The apartments are located by a broad and pretty boulevard just by Tazacorte beach, which is part of the attractive Puerto de Tazacorte.
Less than a couple of minutes walk away and you are on Tazacorte beach. It's popular with the locals but almost never crowded.
|The Puerto de Tazacorte, along with its neighbouring beaches, enjoys the most hours of sunshine on the whole of La Palma - it's La Palma's hot spot!|
Tazacorte is a colourful little resort and a place valued for tranquil tourism. However, it does have the important amenities close at hand.
|Nearby, there is a range of shops including a small supermarket, chemist, newspaper and sweet shop, La Palma handicrafts shop and a beach wear shop. |
Internet and Wi-Fi are also available.
|Around the corner from the apartments is a little promenade with several excellent and inexpensive restaurants. |
Fresh fish is a speciality in Puerto de Tazacorte and along with fresh salad, papas arrugadas (Canarian potatoes) and a choice of La Palma wines, you will have a meal to remember.
|A short walk away, there is a bus stop with frequent buses to the village/small town (Pueblo) of Tazacorte a few minutes away where you will find two supermarkets, a chic restaurant, a couple of bars and more banana plantations than you can imagine. The bus also goes on to Los Llanos town 5 kms away which is the largest town on the island with the town centre being completely pedestrianised. From Los Llanos bus station, you can take a bus to the historic capital of Santa Cruz de la Palma or any other point on the island.|
The Pueblo de Tazacorte has recently been re-modelled to incorporate a lovely plaza right in its centre. The plaza is a place where the locals like to sit under a parasol and catch up on the news over a coffee or wine - it's the new 'place to be!'
|Also in Tazacorte is a splendid new swimming pool complete with children's pool and other amenities.|| |
If you like walking, you can easily walk back down to your holiday apartment on a walking route.
If not, there are buses every 30 minutes or taxis.
If you are planning on walking the western part of the GR130 Camino Real or the first section of the GR131, the apartments are an ideal base.
|Whale and Dolphin boat trips|
| || |
From Tazacorte marina you can take a dolphin and whale safari on the glass-bottom catamaran boat Fancy II. The trip includes the spectacular Cueva Bonita volcanic cavern, the pirate cave of La Candelaria and beach of La Veta. Here is the Fancy II website for more details or just to look at the lovely photos of dolphins and whales from the boat!
|How about SCUBA diving while you're on La Palma? Whether you'd like to try SCUBA diving or already have your PADI or BSAC diving qualification, we can recommend a brilliant diving school nearby who really will look after you and show you some wonderful underwater sights. If you would like more information, you are welcome to ask here via our contact page (as BSAC and PADI divers ourselves) or you can contact the dive school directly. |
|Tazacorte is the home to the only museum in Europe dedicated solely to bananas. And not a lot of people know that! |
