Casa Maria Cruz is a lovely 2-bedroomed cottage located on the outskirts of the village of Puntallana, just 10km from the historic capital of Santa Cruz de la Palma. |  |

It is one of the original old houses of La Palma, a casa rural, and apart from being traditional and pretty, it is also very practical. |

Surprisingly large inside at 88 sq.m.there are five separate rooms including a separate lounge and kitchen and yet it still has that cosy feel. For a self-catering holiday on La Palma but with a touch of quality and history, Casa Maria is a home from home. |

Casa Maria Cruz is in an ideal location for many walking routes (it lies next to the Camino Real) and yet the beaches of Los Cancajos and natural swimming pools of Charco Azul are not too far away. It's also very handy for the village shops in Puntallana, the bus and exploring the rest of the island. |

| The spacious lounge is beautifully furnished with sturdy farmhouse furniture and a comfortable sofa and armchair. There is also a dining table at one end of the lounge suitable for a romantic candlelit meal together or for the family to all gather round. |

Off the kitchen, there is a separate laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board. |

The rustic-style kitchen is also roomy and well-equipped with a 4-ring gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is also a breakfast table with seating for four where you can sit with the kitchen door open, looking out to the garden at the front. |

The two bedrooms are tucked away at one end of the house - one has twin beds which can be put together and the other has a single bed. The single room has space for a second bed or cot. Bedding and towels are of course provided. |

| The bathroom is simple, clean and has the all the basics required: a shower with plenty of hot water, a toilet, bidet and wash basin. There is also a hair dryer. |  |
Casa Maria is an ideal house to rent for families with young children or anyone who dislikes lots of steps! Apart from the steps up to the front door, the patio and house is all on one level. |

The patio is furnished with table and chairs plus there are deck chairs for that extra relaxation. The garden is lovely area in front of the house and there is play space for young children. |

The house is located on a quiet village road by the GR130 El Camino Real walking route around La Palma. It is also close to La Galga. Los Tilos Biosphere Reserve and laurisilva forest and other walking trails of La Palma. It is just a ten minute drive to the nearest beach in Santa Cruz de La Palma or Playa Nogales. There is also an excellent bus service. |

The village of Puntallana has excellent facilities such as a Post Office, bank, supermarket, hardware shop and the beautiful 16th century church of San Juan Bautista. There is also the historic house of Casa Luján, now a museum, and a taberna, La Molina Vieja,where you can sample tapas which are small snacks traditional to La Palma. |
